Learners Lead the Way

Mission Statement:

BridgeWalker was born from a shared belief that learners lead the way. Over twenty-five years ago, co-founders Brandon and Mia Walker met as students in an academic enrichment program that changed the trajectory of their lives. The experience of being seen, challenged, and supported as learners planted the seed for a lifelong passion for education. Today, BridgeWalker carries that same spirit forward, creating pathways for students, families, and educators to bridge the gap between potential and possibility.

Meet Our Founders:

Mia Walker

Mia Walker is a seasoned school leader and instructional coach with more than a decade of experience guiding teachers and students toward excellence. As Principal of KIPP Mosaic Academy, she leads a thriving 6th–10th grade campus of 800 students, where she is known for her strategic vision, restorative leadership, and unwavering commitment to student growth.

Throughout her career, Mia has specialized in supporting students with learning differences and in equipping teachers with the tools to meet diverse learner needs. Her background as a literacy teacher, dean, and principal has shaped her belief that every student can thrive when instruction, empathy, and accountability meet.

She also completed advanced leadership residencies with KIPP Texas Public Schools focused on instructional design, equity, and organizational culture.

At BridgeWalker, Mia brings her expertise in special education, executive function coaching, and faculty development to create tutoring and enrichment experiences that are as compassionate as they are rigorous. Her leadership centers on one core idea: when learners are known, they can truly lead the way.

Brandon Walker

Co-Founder| Educator, Leader, Lifelong Learner

Brandon Walker is an educator and leader who believes that learning should be as personal as it is powerful. With over a decade of experience in independent schools, he has dedicated his career to helping students bridge the gap between potential and performance through individualized, relationship-based instruction.

A former student who once faced learning gaps himself, Brandon experienced firsthand how the right mentorship and academic support can change a life’s trajectory. That transformation became the foundation of his life’s work—making high-quality education accessible to all learners.

Brandon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Statistics from Purdue University and a Master of Education in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University. He currently serves as Head of Middle School at Presbyterian School of Houston and as President of The Summer Institute, a nonprofit he founded to expand academic enrichment and leadership opportunities for under-resourced students.

Through BridgeWalker, Brandon continues to champion personalized learning experiences that honor each student’s unique path—rooted in reflection, strengthened by community, and guided by the belief that learners lead the way.
